I have a large data set generated by mass spec and each sample is set in columns and each variable in rows. Pirouette (v3.11) handles data in the other direction (transposed) with variables in columns and categories in rows. Is there a way to change (reverse) this? The data set is so large that it is highly inconvenient to transpose it with Excel. It is very difficult for us to change format as that is the way data is exported from most if not all of our MS instruments.

Thanks for your help.

If you have loaded a data set into Pirouette in which the samples are in columns, rather than in rows as you might want, simply do File > Transpose.

BTW, the Excel format is not limited to 256 columns, although the Excel program is. Pirouette can write Excel files, which can be as large as you want.
